In the magnificent Drawing Room of the renowned auction house Sotheby’s on London’s New Bond Street, an exclusive charity auction of Istrian white truffles was held on October 21, organized by the Istria County Tourist Board and with a donation from the Karlić family truffle hunters from Paladini near Buzet.
Three exceptional white truffle specimens were offered at the auction – a prize specimen weighing 525 grams, and specimens of 175 and 120 grams, which together achieved a value of 15,300 British Pounds, or 17,500 Euros!
The entire amount raised is intended for the Veruda Daily Rehabilitation Center in Pula, which provides rehabilitation, education, and upbringing for children with developmental difficulties throughout the Istria County area.
