The 12th Teran and Truffle Festival was held in Motovun, traditionally gathering numerous exhibitors and offering visitors tastings of Teran wine, truffles, and various products based on these two enogastronomic gems.
We are convinced that the protection of the geographical origin of the Istrian white truffle at the European Union level is best for the entire community, the truffle itself and its habitats, the truffle market, the tourism offer, and the region,” stated Mr. Ivan Vukadinović from the “Istra” Truffle Hunters’ Association.
In an interview for Agroistra, he also emphasized that the Istrian white truffle is among the highest quality truffles in the world. It has a higher specific density and longevity, which, in addition to its phenomenal aroma and taste, is its greatest characteristic.
The Motovun Teran and Truffle Festival is synonymous with quality winemakers and particularly good examples of Teran wine, as well as a meeting place for the best producers of truffle products and companies involved in truffle purchasing.
A festival attraction was the weighing and announcement of the largest Istrian white truffle of the twelfth edition of the Teran and Truffle Festival. First place went to a 385-gram specimen from Natura tartufi from Buzet, which weighed 404 grams when found in the Motovun Forest area.
