The first survey questionnaire related to the description of the Istrian white truffle was published on our website on November 20, 2023, and ran until December 31, 2023. In addition to the published call to complete the questionnaire on the Facebook page of the Initiative for the Protection of the Istrian White Truffle, all interested members of the public were also informed through paid advertising on Facebook and Instagram, by contacting tourist boards from the areas of northern, central, and eastern Istria, and through direct contact by the Truffle Hunters Association “Istra” with its members, their families, and acquaintances.
Since the first survey questionnaire serves as the basis for the second survey questionnaire (which will be published during January 2024), and in order to avoid bias in future responses, the report presents only the answers that received the most votes. Other answers will not be listed, but they will be used when drafting the second round of the questionnaire and ultimately the designation of origin specification itself.
